The Windy City, Part 1

And particularly for us, The Wet City. That didn't stop us from having a wonderful time though! I hope we are creating wonderful memories for Kendall whether she can remember yet or not. If nothing else we have wonderful pictures to document her travels.

Chicago Bound, bright and early Thursday morning! Kendall's vocabulary just recently expanded with the word "hi". So everyone on the plane got either a hi, wave or a clap. She was a hit to say the least. At the airport where we met GG who would spend 2 days with us. First things first, time for some deep dish pizza. I had asked around and did some googling with a consensus that Gino's East was one of the best spots.
It was yummy, but not sure it is something I would ever crave. We later tried thin crust that night at Pizanos which I preferred.That pretty much wrapped up Kendall's first day in Chicago. Getting from point A to point B takes quite a bit of time in Chicago and she had already had a long day of traveling. GG stayed at the hotel with Kendall that night so Rob and I could enjoy an evening together. Thank you GG!!!
The next morning we decided to travel to Chinatown via the train. Here we are on the sky walk to the train station.

We tried Dim Sum for the very first time and what an experience that was! Food just kept coming out until our entire table (which could have sat 8 people) was full of plates of food. We had no idea who had ordered what or what any of the food was(we ordered by looking at pictures), but most of it wasn't too bad. Kendall did use chopsticks, but she stuck with her Gerber pasta and vegetables.

When we were getting ready to leave a table of about 6 older Chinese ladies, all of whom only spoke Chinese with the exception of one began asking me questions about Kendall. Next thing you know, she's holding Kendall.
That wasn't the only friend to be made. Oh no, Kendall is quite the social butterfly!
It might have been raining nonstop and cold (low 40's/high 30's), but my baby girl never stopped smiling. She even managed to take a cat nap. On to Navy Pier!

Needless to say our plans at Navy Pier changed drastically with the weather. We opted for indoor activities and found this Navy Pier shopping center with live performances which included a magic show and a pirate showdown.

Day 2 comes to an end for Kendall as we head back to the hotel so Rob and I can get ready for my birthday dinner at the Signature Room located on the 95th floor of the Hancock Center (Sears Tower). More to come in Windy City, Part 2!
