Greyson's Law

I came across the story of little baby Grey through another friend's list of blogs that she follows. Just recently becoming a mother myself you will soon see why this story is so near and dear to my heart.

Little baby Greyson was born a healthy child and was later diagnosed with Krabbes Disease around 6 months old. A disease that could have been detected at birth if the state of Texas tested all 55 newborn diseases. A disease that could have been treated had it been detected. A disease that wouldn't have taken the life of little baby Grey before his 1st birthday had it been treated.

But in his short time on earth he has given us hope. His courageous mother is currently trying to get a law passed, Greyson's Law - HB 1795, that ALL states MUST test for ALL 55 possible newborn diseases through a simple heel prick. You can help by reading her story and e-mailing committee members to urge them to pass the law.
