We're Not In Kansas Anymore

My paternal grandmother and I are very close. She is my last living grandparent. We've shared many happy moments; shopping, decorating, cooking, playing games and gossiping. We talk on the phone almost once a week and she will call me if she hasn't heard from me to make sure everything is ok. She could hardly wait to meet Kendall! In fact she asked my Dad to call her no matter what time of day/night it was when Kendall was born to let her know we were both ok. So at about 2:30 am on Jan. 16th I was talking to my Granny describing the precious miracle I just delivered. It was finally time for the 2 to meet.

My Dad drove up to my house on Friday night and we left Saturday morning for my Granny's. Once again, Kendall was a wonderful car rider and only woke to eat, no crying involved. Not bad for a 6 hour drive! My Granny and her husband, Don were out the front door and to our car by the time our car came to a stop in their driveway. They ooed and awwed over her not able to put her down. We had such a wonderful time visiting and watching Kendall smile, kick, squirm and make noises. We got to see my aunt Patti and her family and my great aunt Bernice and her husband Arvon. Don's daughter, Terri also made a special trip down from Missouri to visit little Kendall. Everyone has anxiously awaited for her arrival and she was adorned with gifts, including her first piece of jewelry, a gold heart necklace with diamonds and garnets (her birthstone) from my Granny and Don. What a lucky girl! I hope one day she is able to fully comprehend how much she is loved!

We couldn't leave without taking a 4 generations picture with my Granny, Dad, me and Kendall. And of course discussing when we would be back for our next visit =)
